Another footy season has begun and for us Melbourne supporters, another long year lies ahead with very little chance of any movement up the ladder. However tonight’s post is not about my lament at being stuck as dees man, it’s about how I watch footy has changed for good since becoming a parent.
Going back to the well and putting my proverbial bucket in and pulling out another child six months ago seemed at the time a little ho-hum to people. Whilst many people manage to fake it enough for you to think that they are as excited as you, they are really thinking “you already have kids, sorry we aren’t that excited this time”.
Those dreaded words are not due for another 11 years.

With AFL trade week fast approaching I was thinking about how good would it be if we could trade away parts of life. For starters I think I could do with a change perhaps I would trade my washboard stomach for a more modest 6 pack.
It’s Showtime in Melbourne and I decided to take on the brave mission of dragging the family to the show. I tell you what it’s a good day out for the kids but not for the wallet and me being a tight arse I knew it was going to be a rough day.
