And who doesn't like playing the ol' name game on Brownlow night. I'll chuckle when Andy D reads "C. Ling", cast my mind back a decade or so when we had S. Loewe and S. Hocking running around, and wait with much anticipation for Karmichael to get a vote. (See our current poll and vote for you favourite Brownlow name).
Last year though I considered switching off. Why Dane Swan agreed to take part in the 'could he be this year's winner?' rubbish is beyond me. The red carpet guff is insanely boring – these guys are footballers and their partners, not Sam Worthington or Jennifer Hawkins. And this "C. Judd" crapola! As an insanely one-eyed Collingwood tragic the last thing I want to hear all night is "C. Judd". He's a great of the game, had a quality 2011 season, and would be a deserving winner...at least this year he's avoided any ugly on-field incidents that may cast a shadow over whether he's the fairest as well as the best.
So I'll be tuned in watching again this year. I'll be going crazy on Twitter (follow Chubba and I at @tacklenappy), and I'll be praying that Pendles gets enough votes to eclipse "C. Judd". Oh, and if anyone gets their hands on the Powerpoint presentation (you know the one), please send it my way.
